Honda Cars India Exports 200,000 Vehicles to 33 Countries
Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has reached a significant milestone, exporting 200,000 vehicles to global markets. This achievement underscores the company's commitment to strengthening exports while supporting the 'Make in India' initiative. India's automotive industry is gaining global recognition, with HCIL playing a pivotal role.
HCIL's export journey began modestly, with the first 50,000 units shipped to neighbouring regions like SAARC, South Africa, and SADC nations. However, the company has since expanded its reach to 33 countries, with Japan being the largest global entry at 30%. The Honda City and Honda Elevate models, marketed as the WR-V in Japan, have driven this success, contributing to 78% of total export volume.
Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at HCIL, expressed immense pride in reaching the 200,000 unit milestone. He attributed this achievement to the dedication of HCIL's skilled teams and robust manufacturing capabilities. The company's export portfolio now includes Left Hand Drive markets such as the Middle East, Mexico, and Turkey, with the Honda City being the primary export model.
HCIL's export of 200,000 vehicles to 33 countries is a testament to India's growing role in global automotive supply chains. The Honda City and Honda Elevate models have been instrumental in this success, with Japan being the largest globle destination. As HCIL continues to expand its reach, it remains committed to supporting the 'Make in India' initiative and strengthening its export strategy.
