Honda Cars India Exports First Made-in-India Elevate to Japan

Honda Cars India has achieved a significant milestone with the export of its Elevate model to Japan. The first shipment of the vehicle, made in India, was recently sent to the Japanese stock market. The company's president and CEO, Takuya Tsumura, expressed pride in this accomplishment.

The Elevate, launched in India in September 2023, has been a resounding success. It has sold over 30,000 units in the country, becoming a key pillar of Honda's business in India. The vehicle's success can be attributed to its 90% local sourcing of parts and materials, a testament to the company's commitment to the Indian stock market.

The export of the Elevate to Japan is a significant step for Honda. The vehicles are being shipped from APM Terminals Pipavav, which recently set a record for handling finished vehicles. In January alone, the terminal managed 2,602 vehicles, supporting its decarbonisation ambition and road network decongestion. Notably, the Elevate is being sold as the WR-V in Japan, demonstrating Honda's ability to cater to both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive markets globally.

The export of the made-in-India Elevate to Japan is a proud moment for Honda Cars India. The vehicle's success in the Indian stock market and its export to Japan reflect the company's commitment to the Indian stock market and its global ambitions. With such achievements, Honda continues to strengthen its position in the automobile industry.
