HSBC Taps New Investment Specialist
Georgios Leontaris, a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in asset management within HSBC Global Private Bank, has been appointed as the new Chief Investment Officer for Europe, International, and MENA at HSBC Private Banking and Wealth Management Geneva.
Leontaris, who currently serves as the head of fixed income advisory at HSBC's Swiss private banking subsidiary, will take on his new role on September 1, 2023. He will report to Willem Sels, the global HSBC investment chief, and Karl Faivre, the head of investments & wealth solutions.
Faivre, who also oversees the Europe International, Middle East, and North Africa regions, will play a significant role in Leontaris's work. Leontaris will be based in Geneva for HSBC Private Banking and Wealth Management Geneva and will maintain regular contact with private banking and wealth management clients from the mentioned regions.
Leontaris has been with HSBC for 14 years, during which he has held various positions in Switzerland and the US. His extensive experience and proven track record have earned him recognition as Private Banker of the Year in Switzerland, a testament to his strong reputation and leadership in private banking and wealth management.
In his new role, Leontaris will be responsible for shaping HSBC's house view and determining asset allocation. He will collaborate closely with customer-facing teams and develop thematic ideas, authoring thought leadership pieces to guide HSBC's investment strategies.
Leontaris has participated in numerous industry discussions and interviews about market trends, demonstrating his commitment to staying informed and up-to-date. He will continue to engage in these discussions, providing valuable insights to HSBC and its clients.
With this appointment, Leontaris moves from his role as Chief Investment Officer, Switzerland and EMEA at HSBC Private Bank and Premier Wealth. His previous experiences and accomplishments within HSBC make him well-equipped to take on this challenging and important role.
