Hürth's Fischenich: District Heating Expansion Starts July 21
Hürth's Fischenich neighbourhood is set for a new construction phase starting on 21.07.2025, aiming to expand the district heating network. This will temporarily affect local traffic and residents.
The construction, scheduled to end on 12.08.2025, will take place on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The affected street section is 'Am Druvendriesch' from the entrance to 'Gennerstraße' up to house number 8a. During this time, through traffic will be fully closed, but local traffic can still access the construction site. Pedestrians and cyclists can pass freely.
To accommodate this, access to 'Rebenfeld' street will only be possible via 'Platzstraße'. The city of Hürth has set up a suitable detour for through traffic and asks for understanding regarding the temporary restrictions. The goal of this measure is to ensure a future-proof energy supply by connecting more households to the environmentally friendly district heating network.
The expansion of the hot water network in Hürth's Fischenich neighbourhood is set to begin on 21.07.2025, with the aim of providing a more sustainable energy supply. While there will be temporary traffic restrictions, the city has planned for detours and asks for residents' understanding during this period.
