Hyundai India SUV Sales Surge 17% in September, Exports Jump 43%
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reported a significant surge in sales for September 2025, with domestic wholesales rebounding sharply by 17.2% compared to August 2025. This strong performance was driven by robust festival-season demand.
Hyundai's SUV models led the charge, with SUVs accounting for a record 72.4% of domestic sales. The Hyundai Venue had its best month in 20 months, notching 11,484 units. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Creta achieved its highest-ever monthly tally, with 18,861 units sold. HMIL's overall vehicle sales increased by 10% compared to the previous month, marking a return to growth after a decline in November 2024. Exports also jumped by 43.5% to 18,800 units, the highest monthly tally since December 2022. This positive trend is part of a steady upward trajectory in HMIL's total monthly sales over the last four months, with September 2025 being the highest.
Domestic passenger car wholesales in India also saw a marginal increase of 0.9% to 51,547 units in September 2025 compared to the same period last year. Despite this, HMIL's total sales for the month reached 70,347 units, a 9.6% increase from September 2024.
Hyundai Motor India Limited's strong performance in September 2025, driven by SUV sales and export growth, signals a positive trend in the Indian automotive market. The company's focus on SUV models and robust export performance has contributed to this success.
