Illegal Workers Found at Erding Restaurant: Owner Fined €12,000
Authorities in Erding recently uncovered an illegal employment case at a nearby Asian restaurant. The Main Customs Office Landshut discovered workers without proper residence permits, leading to fines and arrests.
In April 2023, an inspection at the restaurant revealed two Asian nationals working illegally. Their passports and residence permits, though from other EU countries, only allowed for a 90-day stay in Germany.
A follow-up inspection in June 2023 found three Asian nationals still working without the necessary permits. In August, officials visited the restaurant again due to an arrest warrant. Several individuals attempted to flee but were stopped by authorities. The 30-year-old owner was fined €12,000 for aiding and abetting the illegal residence.
The Main Customs Office Landshut continues to investigate and enforce immigration laws. The restaurant owner's fine serves as a reminder of the consequences for employing workers without proper residence permits.
