Russian industrial conglomerate SuperOmsk sent shockwaves through the mining and manufacturing industries when it announced the establishment of OJSC "ODK-Omsk Motor Building Combine" (OJSC "ODK-OMO") in late April 2025. This strategic move aims to unite two of Omsk's industrial giants, OJSC "ODK named P. I. Baranov" and the subsidiary of PJSC "ODK-Saturn," OMKB ("Omsk Motor Building Bureau").
It's worth noting that Igor Shapovalov, the director of the OJSC "ODK named P. I. Baranov" facility, will spearhead the new enterprise. This flagship factory is among the largest in the country, dedicated to the production of aircraft engines and their components.
Although the specific goals of the new legal entity remain unknown, it's important to acknowledge that in early 2025, Omsk region Governor Vitaliy Khotsenko announced the potential union of two main Omsk factories – OJSC "ODK named P. I. Baranov" and the OMKB subsidiary. The creation of OJSC "ODK-OMO" could be a part of this plan, with implementation details and timelines not yet disclosed.
