Increased Financial Allocation for Government Employees' Training Program and Increase in Compensation for Training Providers
The Finance Division of the Government of India has issued a notification on August 14, 2021, outlining revised honorarium rates for various roles involved in internal training within government departments or ministries.
According to the notification, the honorarium for trainers, subject matter experts, will remain at Tk3,600 per hour per session for trainers of third-grade officials or joint secretaries and above. For deputy secretaries and below, the honorarium has been increased to Tk3,000 per hour, an uplift from the previous Tk2,000.
Course directors will now receive Tk2,000 per day, marking an increase from the previous amount. Course coordinators' honorariums have been raised to Tk1,500 per day, while support staff honorariums have been increased to Tk1,000 per day.
For trainees, the honorarium for subject-based internal training within respective departments remains Tk1,000 per day for trainees from grade-10 and below. However, this allowance has been doubled, making it Tk1,000 per day, up from the previous Tk500. Trainees from grade-9 and above will now receive Tk1,200 per day, up from Tk600.
It is important to note that the new honorarium rates apply only to subject-based internal training within respective departments, not for headquarters training of field staff or project-based training. Additionally, specific conditions include no lunch expenses for partial-day sessions.
To access the exact details of the honorarium rates, it is recommended to consult the official Finance Division notification dated 14 August 2021, the official website or circular repository of the Ministry of Finance or the department where the training is conducted, or the office of the administrative or finance officer responsible for training programs.
This order is effective immediately. For more information or assistance in locating the official notification, feel free to reach out.
