Informative gathering for private property owners in social housing sector

The Westfalen-Lippe Regional Association (LWL) and the Herford district, in partnership with organizations like Kommunales Integrationszentrum and local housing associations, are taking steps to improve housing for individuals facing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

On 18th September, an information event about social housing mediation projects and measures will take place at the Small Train Station in Enger at 5 PM. This event is aimed at private landlords who rent to those in housing need, and no registration is required, although it would help with planning if attendees register.

The event will discuss various funding opportunities, including the LWL's "Housing First" program, launched in 2022. This program provides funding for new construction, acquisition, and rental of housing. Private investors, free welfare providers, and member organizations can apply for grants under this program.

Private landlords may be eligible for attractive subsidies such as a rental income guarantee, renovation/sanitation subsidy, climate bonus, rental premium, or a subsidy for their investment costs.

The Herford district and the Protestant Diakoniestiftung Herford are also collaborating as part of the state initiative "Finally a HOME!" to establish a district-wide emergency housing support network.

The collaboration aims to mediate privately offered housing through social housing mediation. For more information about funding opportunities and social housing mediation measures, visit the Herford district's website. If you have further questions, feel free to contact Marie-Christin Paul at Tel.: 05221 13 1431 or Email: m.c.paul@ourwebsite.

It is important to note that the Herford district is currently experiencing a housing shortage and homelessness issue. This collaborative effort is a significant step towards addressing these challenges and ensuring a safe and secure living environment for all residents.

The event will take place in the cosy atmosphere of the small train station, providing a welcoming environment for all attendees. We encourage anyone interested in learning more about this initiative or becoming involved to attend.
