Investment Collaboration in Tire Pyrolysis Waste Recycling Venture in Thailand

In a significant move towards a more sustainable future, HANWA THAILAND, a subsidiary of South Korea's HANWA Group, has made a partial investment in PYRO ENERGY, a Thai tire pyrolysis recycling company based in Ayutthaya Province.

PYRO ENERGIE CO., LTD., the focus of PYRO ENERGY's business activities, employs the pyrolysis recycling process to transform waste tires into valuable reusable resources such as pyrolysis oil and carbon residue. This innovative method, which takes place in an oxygen-free environment, not only avoids combustion but also mitigates harmful emissions, thereby contributing to a greener planet.

The closed-loop approach of PYRO ENERGIE extends beyond simple waste management. The byproducts obtained from pyrolysis are used as fuels and raw materials for industries such as chemical manufacturing, synthetic rubber production, and new tire manufacturing. This resource recovery and reuse strategy reduces dependency on virgin fossil resources, promoting resource efficiency and furthering the principles of the circular economy.

With a processing capacity of approximately 100,000 tons per year, PYRO ENERGIE plays a crucial role in addressing the global issue of waste tire accumulation. Efficiently recycling such volumes helps reduce waste and promotes sustainable waste management, alleviating environmental issues like illegal dumping and landfilling of waste tires.

The HANWA Group aims to enhance the value of pyrolysis-derived products and build a global supply chain in partnership with tire manufacturers. This expansion is geared toward establishing a sustainable circular supply chain that supports multiple industries while reducing carbon footprints.

Both HANWA and its subsidiary have obtained "ISCC PLUS" and "ISCC EU" certifications under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification system, underlining their commitment to sustainable practices and support for efforts aimed specifically at decarbonization by expanding the handling of biomass and recycled products.

Mr. Peerapon Ourapeepon serves as the representative of PYRO ENERGY. For more information, interested parties can reach out to HANWA THAILAND at +66-2-343-8877 or PYRO ENERGY directly at their Ayutthaya facility.

As Thailand continues to grapple with issues such as drug trafficking and environmental concerns, the investment in PYRO ENERGY by HANWA THAILAND represents a promising step towards a more sustainable and decarbonized future for the Southeast Asian nation.
