Italy's Art Police Seize 21 Suspected Dalí Fakes Worth Millions

Italy's art police have seized 21 artworks, including tapestries, drawings, and engravings, purportedly by Salvador Dalí. The move comes after the Fundació̀n Gala - Salvador Dalí reported suspected anomalies in the pieces to Italy's carabinieri art squad. The investigation is ongoing.

The seized works were part of an exhibition in Rome before being moved to Parma. Salvador Dalí, along with Pablo Picasso and Amadeo Modigliani, is among the most-forged artists. The director of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation is the responsible person overseeing the investigation. Authorities are examining the artworks to determine their authenticity.

The seized artworks, valued at millions, are now in the hands of Italian authorities. The investigation aims to uncover whether these pieces are indeed the work of Salvador Dalí or clever forgeries. The outcome will provide clarity on the authenticity of these 21 artworks.
