Joining the city of Landshut's workforce!
In a ceremony held in the New Plenary Hall, Landshut's Mayor, Alexander Putz, welcomed 52 new apprentices and trainees to the municipality. These young talents will be working in various areas, including internal administration, municipal utilities, and the Holy Ghost Hospital Foundation.
Mayor Putz addressed the newcomers personally, expressing his pride in welcoming them and emphasizing their future importance to the city. He highlighted that many people in Landshut do not just meet the required standards because they are proud to be able to work for "their city."
The personnel council will support these new apprentices throughout their training. Mayor Putz encouraged them to find long-term employment in the city, stating that their energy and commitment are the driving force for the future. He also emphasized the need for committed people like the new apprentices and trainees to further modernize and make the service for the citizens more efficient.
Landshut offers a variety of training opportunities, including technical, social, and dual study programs. Application for these opportunities for the year 2026 is now open. The mayor congratulated the new colleagues on their "meaningful" career choice and emphasized that they have the chance to help shape the city and make a difference.
This year, 19 apprentices started in internal administration, 11 interns in pre-professional internships, 9 apprentices in the senior homes of the Holy Ghost Hospital Foundation, and 12 apprentices at the municipal utilities of Landshut. The mayor highlighted the wide range of municipal tasks, including education, childcare, construction projects, infrastructure, cultural and social projects, environmental protection, and more.
Mayor Putz also touched upon the importance of digitization in streamlining processes but stressed that direct contact remains central in many ways. He stated that an administration does not function effectively if one believes common prejudices.
