Kaufland Aims to Double Romanian & Moldovan Stores to 250 by 2030

German retailer Kaufland has ambitious expansion plans for Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The company currently operates 193 stores in the two countries and aims to double this number by 2030.

Kaufland's growth strategy involves opening 10 to 15 new stores each year. This will see the company's presence increase significantly, with a target of 250 stores by the end of the decade. Valer Hancaș, Director of Communication and Corporate Affairs at Kaufland Romania, confirmed these plans.

Most of Kaufland's stores are located in Romania, with less than ten operating in Moldova. This disparity is set to change as the retailer seeks to expand its reach across both countries.

By 2030, Kaufland aims to have a network of 250 stores in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, with a consistent annual growth rate of 10 to 15 new stores. This expansion will significantly increase the retailer's presence in both countries.
