Kazakhstan Projects Over US$1.9 Million in Budget Income from World Star Shows

Astana Concert, a leading force in Kazakhstan's creative economy, has announced plans for several major concerts over the next three years. These events are set to make significant contributions to the nation's economy and cultural landscape.

The first of these high-profile events is the Jennifer Lopez concert, scheduled for August 1, 2025, at Astana Arena, followed by a performance in Almaty on August 10. Ticket prices for this event start at approximately 23,360 tenge. Another anticipated concert is the Backstreet Boys' performance on September 21, 2025, in Astana, with a second show in Almaty on September 19. Tickets for the Astana show go on sale on July 14, starting at 40,000 tenge.

Malik Khassenov, the producer at Astana Concert, emphasised the affordability of these tickets compared to the band’s world tour and efforts to combat scalpers to keep prices transparent. Astana Concert plans to organise more than 10 Class A concerts over the next three years, signalling a robust pipeline of international cultural events contributing ongoing economic and creative activity in the city and the country.

These concerts are expected to attract a substantial number of tourists, with the Jennifer Lopez concert anticipated to draw nearly 18,000 tourists, and the Backstreet Boys concert expected to attract a similar or higher number. The Ministry of Culture and Information provides organisational and promotional assistance for these concerts, while private investment fully funds them.

The concerts organised by Astana Concert will not only boost Kazakhstan's tourism and hospitality industries but also enrich the local creative economy by increasing demand for event organisation, technical services, and cultural experiences. Malik Khassenov noted that these events offer "incredible emotions" and vivid impressions to audiences, underlining their cultural impact alongside economic benefits.

In summary, Astana Concert’s major upcoming concerts, notably featuring Jennifer Lopez and Backstreet Boys, are positioned to enhance Kazakhstan’s creative economy through ticket sales, tourism boost, and cultural engagement while setting the stage for continued international cultural events in the capital city.

Ticket sales for the upcoming concerts, such as Jennifer Lopez's in August 2025 and the Backstreet Boys' in September 2025, will not only provide financial support to Astana Concert but also contribute to Kazakhstan's overall economy, given their potential to attract thousands of tourists and stimulate the growth of the local creative economy. These concerts, offering "incredible emotions" to audiences, will enrich Kazakhstan's cultural landscape and contribute to a robust pipeline of international events in the coming years.
