Kia issues recall for over 80,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to faulty airbag deployment and wiring issues
Unfortunately, it seems there's an ongoing issue with the Hyundai Niro EV, Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and Hybrid vehicles. Reports suggest that damaged wiring could lead to an unintended side curtain airbag deployment [2]. This issue has prompted a recall, affecting 80,255 vehicles from the 2023 to 2025 model years [1].
Dealers will inspect, replace, and reroute the floor wiring assembly as necessary, all at no cost to the vehicle owners. Additionally, they'll install wiring covers for extra protection [1]. Owners will be notified via mail in March [1].
This recall comes shortly after another one in November, when Hyundai and Kia recalled over 208,000 electric vehicles to address a transistor problem in the charging control unit [1]. In that case, the damaged transistor could cause the 12-volt battery to stop charging, potentially leading to loss of drive power and increased risk of crashes [1].

Despite these recalls, Hyundai continues to prioritize business operations and customer satisfaction, ensuring prompt resolution and compensation for affected vehicle owners. The recall has disrupted some business operations temporarily, but the company is working diligently to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
