The British automobile manufacturer, BMW, has recently expanded its 5-Series lineup with the introduction of several new models. Among these, the highly anticipated fully electric BMW i5, which made its debut in May 2023 and became available for purchase in October, is a standout addition. The i5 is also offered as a Touring (station wagon) version.

BMW is the sole producer of the 5-Series model line, with other manufacturers yet to launch new models in this category.

Moving back in time, the 2011 BMW X3 made its official entrance, although the prices for this model were not disclosed in the article. The 2011 BMW X3 was set to debut at the Paris Motor Show.

In 2017, BMW unveiled the new 5-Series, equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment system as standard and various technology features such as BMW's Professional Media and iDrive. The new 5-Series shares styling cues with the new 7-Series.

The new 5-Series offers a range of engine options, including petrol, diesel, and a hybrid, and comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox for the petrol and hybrid models. The new 5-Series also offers the option of xDrive 4WD, which will be standard on the M550i.

Optional features on the new 5-Series include semi-autonomous tech, apps, Remote Control Parking, and a built-in SIM for connectivity. The new 5-Series Touring and M5 models will be released at a later date.

The BMW Concept 8 Series, which previews a 2018 BMW 8 Series Coupe, has also been officially revealed.

A notable homage to BMW's rich history is the BMW 328 Hommage, which pays tribute to the 1936 BMW 328, an iconic car in BMW's history that set the highest record at the Mille Miglia race. The BMW 328 Hommage concept car made its debut at Villa d'Este this weekend.

The new 5-Series is now available for purchase, with a starting price of £36,025. A photo gallery of the 2011 BMW X3 is included in this article for your viewing pleasure.
