Lebensader Lux Project on Track: Third Phase Due in September 2025
The Lebensader Lux urban development project is making steady progress. The third phase, from Horbeller Straße to AOK Straße, is set to conclude in September 2025. Meanwhile, the second phase, up to Luxemburger Straße 315, is ongoing and due for completion by June 2025.
The project's timeline has seen several milestones. The first phase wrapped up in October 2024 with the connection of the Horbeller Straße canal. Construction on Luxemburger Straße is proceeding smoothly, aiming to create a traffic-calmed zone with ample greenery and improved stayability. This includes transforming intersections into roundabouts and designating the middle section as a bike street with a 30 km/h speed limit.
The construction schedule was recently optimized in March 2025 to mitigate potential disruptions from archaeological finds. Ancillary facilities like sidewalks and garden sheds are slated for completion by February 2026, accompanied by the installation of new power, water lines, and fiber optic cables, with house connections being renewed.
With the third phase set to finish in September 2025 and the second phase in June, the project is on track for its early 2027 completion and reopening. Pedestrians can expect barrier-free sidewalks between Horbeller Straße and AOK Straße to be accessible again in early 2026.
