Maruti Suzuki Unveils Limited-Edition Grand Vitara 'Phantom Blaq'

Maruti Suzuki India has announced the launch of a limited-edition Grand Vitara model, the 'Phantom Blaq', to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its premium automotive retail channel, NEXA. The Grand Vitara 'Phantom Blaq' offers a unique matte black exterior finish, premium interior, and a robust hybrid powertrain.

The 'Phantom Blaq' boasts a matte black exterior, a first for Maruti Suzuki, accompanied by blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels, and gloss/matte black exterior trim replacing most chrome elements. The interior maintains an all-black leatherette upholstery accented by champagne gold and burnished bronze trims, providing a luxurious cabin aesthetic.

Under the hood, the Phantom Blaq edition is powered by a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine paired with a 0.76 kWh lithium-ion battery and a front-mounted electric motor. This setup produces a combined system output of about 114-116 bhp and is mated to an e-CVT automatic transmission. The powertrain delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of approximately 27.97 kmpl. The model is offered only with front-wheel drive (FWD) and does not feature all-wheel drive (AWD).

Safety is a top priority for Maruti Suzuki, and the Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq comes standard with six airbags, a 360-degree camera for comprehensive parking and maneuvering assistance, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold control, and electronic stability control. These features contribute to a robust safety package aligned with modern mid-size SUV standards.

The Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq is available exclusively on the strong hybrid Alpha+ trim, and bookings are now open at NEXA dealerships. The vehicle comes equipped with an advanced 22.86cm (9") SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a premium Clarion sound system, a 360 view camera, Head-Up Display (HUD), and a wireless charging dock.

Maruti Suzuki India offers two comprehensive safety packages: the NEXA Safety Shield and Arena Safety Shield. The company's CEO, Banerjee, has affirmed that Maruti Suzuki now provides one of the most secure driving experiences in the industry due to the presence of both active and passive safety features.

Despite the market remaining largely flat during the first four months of the financial year 2025-26, Banerjee believes that sales should pick up in the festival season. He has expressed optimism that the festive season will catalyze renewed customer interest and uplift sales figures for Maruti Suzuki. However, the sales figures for the first four months of the financial year 2025-26 have not been disclosed in the article.

In summary, the key features and specifications of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq limited edition are:
