Metro Tunneling Continues in Krasnoyarsk, with Shields "Ekaterina" and "Solomeya" Nearing the 1000-M Mark Soon
Things are heating up in Krasnoyarsk's metro construction as the shields "Ekaterina" and "Solomeya" are about to bust through the 1000-m barrier. Right now, the Transit Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMK) have reached the auxiliary tunnel structures on Ulitsa Shahterov.
"Both machines have come across the auxiliary construction PK153, located between Ulitsa Polarnaya and Ulitsa Gagarina," Krasnoyarsk Transport Logistics Center shared. As of now, the probing shields are at a depth of 38 meters and are preparing to descend towards the banks of the Kacha River.
The metro builders are busy servicing and maintaining the TBMKs, with specialists from GK "Bamtonnelstroi-Most" checking the technical condition of their cutting parts and readying the equipment to tackle the next section.
"Following the technical service, the complexes will continue boring the tunnel passes and should reach the 1000-m mark soon on each passageway," explained Andrei Osipov, chief engineer of the project for GK "Bamtonnelstroi-Most".
The next stop for the shields will be at another auxiliary construction site, PK 141, near Kacha. Here, the construction of the protective structures for the pit has commenced.

Six auxiliary structures will be built on the initial metro line spanning from Severo-Zapadnyy to Vzletka: these crucial structures will accommodate ventilation systems, evacuation exits, and other operational facilities.
The shields are expected to reach the "Ulitsa Karla Marksa" station near the city hall by the end of the year. Once they do, they will be dismantled and transported to station "Ploschad Revolutsii", where they will set off in the opposite direction. That's the plan, after all.
Meanwhile, on the other side, from Ploschad Revolutsii to Vokzal, "Anastasia" and "Irina" shields will embark on their subterranean trek. "Valentina" shield, alongside "Anaestasia," will journey from the "Vokzal" station to station "Ulitsa Kopylova".
At the city hall and the train station, construction on protective structures is currently underway, while those at Ploschad Revolutsii are already finished, with construction efforts in full swing on the pit itself.
