Modern Townhouses Proposed for Old Town's Vacant Lot

A proposal is set for review by the city's Board of Architectural Review later this month. The plan involves constructing three four-story townhouses on a vacant lot in Old Town. The project, designed by Jonathan Kuhn Architect based in D.C., is slated for 806 N. Columbus Street, near the intersection with Madison Street and two blocks east of N. Patrick Street (Route 1).

The townhouses, scheduled for review on Thursday, October 16, will feature three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and two half-baths each. They will also include recreation rooms on the fourth floor, rear decks, and rooftop decks. The homes will vary in width, with two being 16 feet wide and one at 18.25 feet wide.

The proposed development aims to bring modern living spaces to Old Town, with the architectural review set to determine the project's feasibility. The specific details of the design and any potential impact on the surrounding area will be scrutinized during the review process.
