Monthly CBC luncheon to highlight SparkHaus, the innovative new entrepreneurship center in Northern Kentucky
In the heart of Covington, the historic Montgomery Ward department store is being transformed into SparkHaus, a hub designed to foster community-changing companies. This exciting project is a partnership between Kenton County, Northern Kentucky Port Authority, and Blue North, an innovation connector for the region.
Construction on the former Sims Furniture building began in October 2024, with plans for a grand opening in September 2025. Located at the corner of Covington's Madison Avenue and 8th St, SparkHaus will be a one-stop shop for Northern Kentucky's entrepreneurs, offering resources necessary for creating and growing successful businesses.
The transformation of the historic landmark into a hub for regional entrepreneurship will be a key topic at a panel discussion scheduled at SparkHaus. This event aims to cement Covington's role as a driving force in the Tri-State's innovation economy. The panel discussion, which will feature Blue North Executive Director Dave Knox and several prominent SparkHaus community members, is scheduled for a date and time yet to be announced. Registration is required for those interested in attending.
The Covington Business Council will also feature SparkHaus at its monthly meeting, which is scheduled for Thursday between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The meeting will take place at Embassy Suites River Center. The exact details of the panel discussion, including the date, time, and speakers, are not currently available, but further information is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
As the grand opening of SparkHaus approaches, the anticipation grows for this exciting new addition to Covington's vibrant business scene. The historic Montgomery Ward department store is set to reopen as SparkHaus in early August, marking a significant milestone in the city's continued growth and development. Stay tuned for more updates on this transformative project.
