In a groundbreaking move, Alstom, a leading global player in sustainable mobility, has powered up its industrial hub in the heart of Barcelona, Santa Perpètua, with an ambitious photovoltaic solar energy project. The factory's first phase, recently unveiled, has paved the way for the installation of 2,419 solar panels on the rooftops of workshops, office buildings, and the main parking lot, with a sprinkling of solar panels in the parking spaces too. Spanning over 9,000 square meters—about the size of two football fields—the solar panels will help avoid the emission of 694 tons of CO2, taking the equivalent of 162 gasoline cars off the road for a year.
