New rates for Maingau's services have been disclosed
Maingau Energie, a prominent energy provider in Germany, has announced a new pricing structure for its electric vehicle (EV) charging points, effective from August 13, 2024. The changes aim to offer more competitive and transparent pricing to its customers.
Under the new structure, the cost of AC charging will be approximately 0.59 € per kWh, while DC charging will cost 0.69 € per kWh. Notably, there will be no monthly basic fee (Grundgebühr) applied.
The standard price for fast charging will be 0.72 €/kWh, with a usual DC surcharge of ten cents. This price applies to a variety of providers including Ionity, Edeka, Grid & Co, Hamburger Energiewerke, Jet Strom, MVV, Sachsen-Energie AG, TankE, and the Germany network operators Autostrom Plus, EWE Go Hochtief Ladepartner, and Pfalzwerke Deutschlandnetz.
Operators like Mer and Allego, which previously had higher prices for fast charging, will now fall under the standard price, costing 0.72 €/kWh instead of 0.79 €/kWh with Maingau Autostrom.
However, charging with providers like Aral Pulse, EWE Go, EnBW, or E.ON Drive will be more expensive at 0.82 €/kWh than before with Maingau Autostrom. There is no discount for high-price providers, so it remains 82 cents per kilowatt hour for Maingau customers.
At charging points of Allego, Aral Pulse, E.ON Drive, EnBW, Mer, and EWE Go, a blocking fee of 10 cents will be charged after three hours for AC charging and after one hour for DC charging.
Maingau also plans to introduce a credit check for new customers at contract conclusion with Maingau Autostrom. The operator emphasizes transparency and fairness in pricing, allowing customers to select charging points based on price clusters and location preferences.
The terms and conditions will be adjusted with effect from September 15, including the inclusion of the current prices in the Autostrom app. Customers are encouraged to visit the Maingau website (maingau-energie.de) for a detailed tariff overview.
It is important to note that while Maingau Autostrom is valid abroad, detailed differentiated pricing abroad was not explicitly stated in the results. Prices abroad may vary depending on local operator fees and currency effects.
The DC charging price at Ionity via Maingau will be 0.62 €/kWh, seven cents cheaper than before. This pricing holds for use in Germany; the operator did not provide information on pricing for charging abroad.
These prices are gross (including VAT) and apply to Maingau Autostrom’s charging app and card usage. There is no block charge fee mentioned, so customers pay strictly based on consumption.
The source of the information is an email from Maingau Energie. The new pricing structure is part of Maingau's ongoing efforts to make EV charging more affordable and accessible for its customers.
In the new pricing structure by Maingau Energie, AC charging will cost approximately 0.59 € per kWh, while DC charging will cost 0.69 € per kWh, offering more competitive rates compared to other industry players in the finance sector, such as Mer, Allego, Ionity, Edeka, Grid & Co, Hamburger Energiewerke, Jet Strom, MVV, Sachsen-Energie AG, TankE, Autostrom Plus, EWE Go Hochtief Ladepartner, and Pfalzwerke Deutschlandnetz. Additionally, the new tariffs under Maingau Autostrom will be transparent and fair, with no monthly basic fee and a detailed overview available on their website.
