New Social Housing Development Opens in Jersey

A new social housing development, Ed Le Quesne House, has been completed in Minden Place, New Jersey. The building, owned by Christians Together in Jersey Housing Trust, offers 31 modern apartments designed for individuals moving towards independent living.

Architect Jules Dobrzynski created the unique exterior, featuring undulating brick carvings and wave-form twisted steel balcony balustrades, inspired by New Jersey's rich heritage. The building faced logistical challenges during construction due to its tight space and limited access.

The apartments, a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, all come with fitted kitchens and bathrooms. Tenants can expect on-site caretakers available 24/7 for support and maintenance. Around three-quarters of the apartments are already occupied, with tenants expressing satisfaction with their new homes.

Ed Le Quesne House, completed after overcoming logistical hurdles, now provides quality accommodation for those transitioning to independent living. With its distinctive design and satisfied tenants, the development stands as a testament to the trust's commitment to improving local housing in New Jersey.
