Nighttime traffic control has been planned at the Skornyaya and Kropotkin street intersection in Krasnodar
In the heart of August 2025, Krasnodar, a city in southern Russia, is grappling with significant traffic disruptions due to severe flooding, a tornado, and landslide threats. These events have led to emergency declarations and temporary road closures, affecting both local and regional traffic.
Severe Weather Conditions Affecting Krasnodar Krai
The weather-related issues have disrupted travel and caused local traffic restrictions. A landslide near Moldovans Skin has necessitated temporary vehicle restrictions on affected routes, while a complete closure of the Russian-Georgian border near the Upper Lars (Verkhniy Lars) checkpoint on the Georgian Military Road is due to a landslide threat.
Local Traffic Restrictions in Krasnodar City
Within Krasnodar city, traffic will be restricted for two weeks on a street section. From August 5 to 19, vehicles will not be able to pass through Gимназическая Street, specifically from Kirova to Oktябрьская. Drivers are advised to consider this traffic restriction when planning their routes and to choose detours in advance.
Additionally, repair work on the water supply network requires traffic restrictions at the intersection of Skornyazhnaya and Kropotkina Streets. Traffic management at this intersection will be implemented using one of the two lanes from 23:00 on August 5 to 06:00 on August 6.
Ongoing Construction on Pochtovaya Street
Previously reported, construction of wastewater networks on Pochtovaya Street is ongoing. The road section on Pochtovaya Street, from Gogol Street to Borodinskaya Street, is closed to traffic. The repair work is scheduled to take place from August 5, 23:00 to August 6, 06:00, and the road section will remain closed until August 31. Buses are running on altered routes due to the closure of Pochtovaya Street.
Specialists from "Krasnodar Vodokanal" are also preparing for emergency repair work on Skornyazhnaya Street.
As the city works to manage these challenges, updates and advisories will be provided as necessary. Drivers are encouraged to stay informed and plan their routes accordingly.
The weather-induced disruptions are impacting more than just local traffic within Krasnodar; they have also affected the flow of goods and services within the city's industries, such as finance and transportation.
With the closure of the Russian-Georgian border on the Georgian Military Road, there might be delays in the transportation of goods and financial transactions between Russia and nearby countries.
