The strategy consulting powerhouse, Oliver Wyman, has ushered in a fresh chapter with the appointment of a new Market Leader for Germany and Austria as we bid farewell to the old year. Fabian Brandt, a seasoned veteran in the industry, is set to take the reins from Kai Bender, the firm announced on Thursday. Bender, who has been at the helm since 2018, is shifting his focus back to the world of digital transformation.
Brandt now stands at the helm of "business in the second-largest consulting market in the world," as announced by Oliver Wyman. With the firm for 25 years, Brandt has served as the Global Practice Leader for the automotive and manufacturing industry on an international level since 2019. Prior to this, he held the position of COO for Oliver Wyman Germany and Austria for three years from 2016 to 2018.
New Horizons Ahead
As Bender moves on, he leaves behind a trail of success in the German market, having spearheaded the firm's growth and ventured into new consulting domains such as chemistry, steel, and healthcare. European CEO, Christian Edelmann, praised Bender for these accomplishments and noted his role in bringing in experienced consultants to the firm.
Oliver Wyman belongs to the Marsh McLennan group, which also includes Mercer, a consulting firm in its portfolio. Recently, Mercer Germany expanded its corporate consulting business by acquiring the HKP Group. Martin Haep, CEO of Mercer Germany, emphasized the strong connection between the two firms in an interview with the Börsen-Zeitung.
