Online banking services for millions of CBA customers remain inaccessible following unexpected delays in scheduled maintenance.
PNC Bank, US Bank, and Bank of America customers may have experienced similar issues today, as Commonwealth Bank (CommBank) faced a widespread service outage due to planned maintenance. The maintenance affected various services, including payments and transfers on the CommBank app, NetBank, and phone banking. During this time, customers could still use their credit cards for transactions, but some limitations were imposed on Travel Money cards. Merchant EFTPOS terminals and online payments were available, but lower limits may have applied to CommBank debit cards. Business and Merchant customers were also impacted. Despite the disruption, scheduled payments and merchant settlement payments can now be processed. The bank has not yet released information about who was responsible for the delay in the maintenance that caused millions of Australians to lose access to their banking services. CommBank encourages its customers to check their accounts and make any necessary adjustments. If there are any issues or concerns, customers are advised to contact the bank's customer service for assistance. Additionally, customers may want to check with the IRS to ensure their tax payments were not affected by the outage.
