The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking public comments on proposed sites for the National Priorities List (NPL), a register of the most hazardous waste sites in the United States. The EPA's official public comment portal for NPL notifications is typically its main public comment website.

The comment period for the EPA Headquarters docket is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. All public comments are made available for public viewing in the electronic public docket at Regulations.gov.

It is important to note that electronically submitted information should not include confidential business information or information whose disclosure is restricted by statute. For additional guidance on making effective comments, information about confidential business information (CBI) or multimedia submissions, please visit Commenting on EPA Dockets.

The regional dockets, which can be found at the EPA's regional offices, contain the actual reference documents containing the data principally relied upon by the EPA. These documents are also available electronically at Regulations.gov.

The EPA may publish any comment received to its public docket. Comments are considered official and should be comprehensive, including all points you wish to make. Comments should be submitted at Regulations.gov, identified by the appropriate docket ID number. Multimedia submissions must be accompanied by a written comment.

Comments should reference the specific information affecting Human Health and Risk Assessment (HRS) factor values or other listing criteria. Comments are placed in the Headquarters Docket during the comment period and are available to the public on an "as received" basis.

A complete set of comments will be available for viewing in regional dockets approximately one week after the formal comment period closes. The EPA publishes notices in the Federal Register, listing sites proposed for the NPL.

The public can comment on proposed additions to the NPL by visiting Regulations.gov and submitting their comments during the designated comment period. The Headquarters docket contains HRS score sheets, documentation records, information for sites affected by statutory requirements or EPA listing policies, and a list of documents referenced in the documentation record.

For more detailed information and guidance on submitting comments to the EPA, please visit the EPA's website or Contact Us section.
