Over a hundred businesses in Belarus to receive approximately 480 million Belarusian rubles in financial aid
The Belarusian government has announced new investment subsidies for select enterprises within the agricultural sector. Decree No 291 outlines a list of 101 organizations that will receive funding to cover part of the interest on loans taken out for projects involving the reconstruction, modernization, and construction of facilities at livestock, poultry, rabbit, and fur farms.
The subsidies, amounting to a combined total of 496.4 million Belarusian rubles, are limited to loans provided in the local currency and are subject to conditions set by banks. The loans can extend up to a term of 12 years.
Interestingly, the government's website and official legal databases do not display a decree with the number 291 related to agricultural investment subsidies in Belarus. However, a search for "291" returns results for Luxembourg's 2025 National Risk Assessment, discussing an EU investment sector figure of EUR 291 billion, but this is unrelated to the context of Belarusian agricultural subsidies.
The list of eligible organizations for the subsidies has grown from the previous 85 organizations, which received subsidies totaling 374.9 million rubles as of the end of 2024. Financial products affected by this announcement include loans, deposits, credit card services, leasing services, and various account products for consumers, businesses, and auto services.
