Ozon's results demonstrate that Alexander Chachav's structures secured a 27.71% share.
In a major shakeup in the Russian e-commerce sector, Alexander Chachava, founder of LETA Capital, has acquired a 27.7% stake in Ozon from investment holding Vostok Investments. The deal, valued at 38.2 billion rubles, was confirmed by reports on July 25, 2025 [1][2].
With this acquisition, Chachava has become one of the two main shareholders in Ozon, alongside AFK Sistema (holding 31.8%), while the remainder of shares remain free-floating. Notably, the acquisition did not alter Ozon's management structure [1][2].
The exact buyer of Vostok Investments' stake was not specified in the report. The acquisition was facilitated through the purchase of JSC "O23", which owns 59.8 million ordinary shares and 1 class A share in Ozon.
Despite the change in ownership, Ozon's management will remain unchanged. The management and board of directors, consisting of nine members, will continue to make key decisions. The remaining seats on the board will be occupied by independent and non-executive directors.
The sale of Vostok Investments' stake in Ozon was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a source on the investment market and the auditor's report on the annual report of MKOOO "Kenigsberg Investments", the holding company of Vostok Investments. However, the exact number of shares owned by Chachava and AFK Sistema after the sale, as well as before the acquisition, were not disclosed.
Interestingly, the sale of Vostok Investments' stake in Ozon seems to have been unreported earlier. It is also unclear if Chachava's structures had any previous stake in Ozon before this acquisition.

Following the acquisition, Chachava will likely be exploring ways to leverage technology in Ozon's business operations, as he may intend to apply innovative practices from his investing portfolio in the finance sector. With the increased stakes, AFK Sistema and Chachava are now poised to explore potential synergies between their respective businesses, possibly leading to new investment opportunities.
