Megan Roberts, a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in advising issuers, asset managers, underwriters, lenders, and investors in asset-backed finance (ABF) transactions, has joined Paul Hastings LLP as a partner in its Chicago office.
Roberts brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm, having worked on a wide range of ABF transactions, including capital markets and private securitizations, as well as acquisitions of consumer loan portfolios. Her notable transactions include representing Carlyle and KKR in the acquisition of a $10.1 billion portfolio of prime private student loans from Discover Bank, as well as representing KKR’s credit funds and accounts in the purchase of a $7.2 billion portfolio of super-prime recreational vehicle loans from BMO Bank National Association.
Throughout her career, Roberts has worked with major financial institutions and asset managers such as Barclays, Blackstone, Bracebridge, Carlyle, KKR, Cadma Capital Partners, and OneMain Finance Corporation. Her expertise spans various asset classes, including student loans, unsecured consumer loans including fintech, auto loans and leases, trade receivables, data centers, equipment leases, and non-traditional assets like healthcare receivables and television royalty rights.
