Police Bust Investment Scam Promising Unrealistic Returns

Police have dismantled an elaborate investment scam that promised unrealistic returns. The scheme, posing as a legitimate investment company, has left over 180 people out of pocket by approximately 230 million tenge.

The scam lured participants with promises of daily returns ranging from 5% to 10%, amounting to over 150% monthly and a staggering 1800% annually. Victims were enticed to deposit funds and earn more by watching ads or referring new recruits.

Organizers, now in police custody, collected funds onto bank cards registered to fake names. They then transferred the money to cryptocurrency wallets to conceal its origin and movement. The investigation into the case continues.

The scheme's organizer has been detained and remains in custody for two months. Over 180 people have identified themselves as victims, with the total damage estimated at approximately 230 million tenge. Police continue to investigate the case, urging anyone with further information to come forward.
