Pratt & Whitney Wins $18M NATO AWACS Engine Sustainment Deal
Pratt & Whitney has secured a significant contract worth $18m from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The deal involves comprehensive engine sustainment services for NATO's airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft, the E-3 Sentry, over a period of three years, with an option to extend it by two more years.
The contract includes a materials management programme, offering part forecasting, procurement, and technical support. Pratt & Whitney will maintain and repair TF33 engines used in the AWACS fleet, ensuring they remain operational and reliable. Work on this agreement will take place at multiple locations, including the Pratt & Whitney factory in Bridgeport, West Virginia, the Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base in Germany, and depots in Turkey and Greece. Additionally, Pratt & Whitney's East Hartford, Conn. facility will also contribute to the contract's execution.
The company's expertise in engine sustainment and support services will help NATO maintain its airborne surveillance capabilities, crucial for the alliance's mission and operations.
