Previously Issued Rebate Documents for DERA School Bus Rebates
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published the 2020 DERA School Bus Rebate Program Guide in October 2020, offering a detailed 28-page guide on how schools and bus operators could apply for rebates to electrify their school bus fleets (EPA-420-B-20-047).
The 2020 DERA School Bus Rebates Application became available for submission from November 2020. Past rebate documents, including FAQs and webinar recordings, are also available for reference.
In August 2021, a 2020 DERA School Bus Rebate Scrappage Webinar was held to provide additional information on the program. The webinar recording, along with a Q&A session, was made available for download (pdf, 11.58 MB).
In October 2020, a Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) School Bus Rebates Webinar was also held to discuss the program and answer questions from interested parties (pdf, 1.06 MB).
As of January 2021, a 2020 EPA School Bus Rebates Applicant Wait List was published, indicating the current status of applications.
In April 2021, a 2020 Payment Request Form was released for those who had been awarded rebates.
Moving into 2021, the DERA School Bus Rebate Program continues, offering rebates for the electrification of school buses. Additionally, there is an ARP Electric School Bus Rebates program, but specific details about the foundation awarding rebates in 2021 are not currently available.
