Merger Announcement: Genoverband e.V. and Examination Association Unite
In a remarkable move, the Genoverband e.V. and the Examination Association of German Traffic, Service, and Consumer Cooperatives e.V. (PV) have joined forces. Beginning January 1, 2025, these two heavyweights will merge to bolster their cooperative networks and tackle challenges more effectively.
The Genoverband members gathered in Düsseldorf for the momentous decision, while PV members had earlier approved the merger on June 18, 2025. Both associations strive for high-quality examinations, support, and advice, as well as the belief that combined, they can deliver more for their members.
PV and Genoverband CEO Peter Götz explains, "By pooling our strengths and tapping into synergies, we set our sights on the ultimate goal: empowering the members of both associations. This merger sends a powerful message about the strength of the cooperative union." In turn, PV Director Folkmar Schmidt adds, "The alliance with Genoverband equips us to bolster our member support and advice, heighten examination quality, and bolster our employees' employer attractiveness."
Board member Dr. Thomas-Sönke Kluth further adds, "Through the merger, we will wisely utilize our resources and expertise to tackle tomorrow’s challenges together and better serve our members."
As a result, PV members will establish a new Traffic & Logistics division within the Genoverband, preserving their unique identity. Existing PV employees will continue to be the go-to resources for members, while embracing their new role within the expanding Genoverband network.
The PV’s network partners, Dr. Kluth & von Zech Rechtsanwälte and Transtreuhand GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, will become part of the Genoverband network. The law firm Dr. Kluth & von Zech will now be part of the AWADO Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft, while Transtreuhand GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft will join AWADO GmbH WPG StBG.
