Proposal put forward by Yakutsk Governor for incorporation of bus drivers into the mortgage program of the Far East.

In a recent development, Evgeny Grigoryev, the mayor of Yakutsk, has put forth a proposal to include public transport drivers in the list of recipients for Far East mortgages. The announcement was made in Grigoryev's Telegram channel, and the proposal is related to the upcoming Eastern Economic Forum-2024.

The shortage of public transport staff has been a persistent issue in Yakutsk, and Grigoryev believes that addressing this problem is crucial for maintaining the quality of life in the city. He stated that 2/3 of bus drivers in municipal JAPAK require improved housing conditions, and the situation for private carriers is similar.

Grigoryev believes that this proposal would not only motivate current employees but also retain people at the enterprise and attract new driver staff from the republic's regions. He hopes that the leaders of other major cities in the Far East will support this initiative.

Collaboration with the Ministry of the Development of the Far East and other development institutions is expected to facilitate the implementation of this proposal. However, specific details about how public transport drivers in Yakutsk and the Far East are proposed to be included in the Far East mortgage program are not yet available.

It's worth noting that this initiative is part of broader strategies to enhance living conditions and economic incentives in the region. Developing better housing solutions is considered crucial for maintaining a stable workforce in the Arctic, as noted in discussions about improving housing stock in the Arctic.

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, has previously drawn attention to the shortage of public transport staff. The provision of driver staff is believed to have a significant impact on the level of work and safety of public transport.

This proposal is expected to be discussed further at the Eastern Economic Forum, which aims to promote the development of the Far East and Arctic regions. The forum provides a platform for regional leaders, investors, and experts to discuss and collaborate on initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life and economic stability in these regions.

In light of the persistent shortage of public transport staff in Yakutsk, the proposal by Mayor Grigoryev to include drivers in the Far East mortgages program is aimed at improving housing conditions, thereby motivating current employees, retaining staff at enterprises, and attracting new drivers from the republic's regions. This initiative, part of broader strategies to enhance living conditions and economic incentives, aligns with presidential aspirations to address the shortage and improve the safety of public transport in the Arctic region.
