ProSiebenSat.1 Adjusts 2025 Financial Forecast Amid Challenging Conditions

ProSiebenSat.1, the German broadcasting group, has revised its financial forecast for 2025, citing a challenging economic climate. The company now expects its revenue to range between €3.65-€3.8 billion, a downgrade from its previous forecast of €3.85 billion with a variance of €150 million.

In addition, the company has adjusted its expectations for adjusted EBITDA, forecasting between €420-€470 million, a decrease from the previous projection of €520 million with a variance of €50 million.

The downgrade is attributed to the lack of improvement in Germany's economic situation and the uncertainty surrounding the economic recovery, which was previously anticipated by ProSiebenSat.1. Advertising demand for September and the initial indications for October are also below expectations for both linear TV and digital advertising products.

Martin Mildner, the Chief Financial Officer of ProSiebenSat.1, had expressed cautious optimism about the second half of the year in July. However, the current economic climate has led to a more challenging outlook for the fourth quarter.

The company's new ownership structure was also announced recently. Media for Europe (MFE), the holding company of the Berlusconi family, has acquired ProSiebenSat.1, now holding over 75 percent of the company's shares following the acquisition of shares from the Czech investor PPF Group.

Despite the challenging conditions, ProSiebenSat.1 expects advertising revenues in the German-speaking region to decline by a mid-single-digit percentage compared to the previous year.

In 2024, ProSiebenSat.1 reported a result of €537 million. The company is yet to release its 2025 financial results.

As ProSiebenSat.1 navigates these challenging times, it remains committed to delivering high-quality content and innovative digital products to its audience.
