Railway constraints coinciding with the Bremen Free Market: Project by Deutsche Bahn causing the disturbance
In preparation for the upcoming Bremen Freimarket, Nordwestbahn has announced changes to its services on certain routes to increase capacity, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays on line RS 1.
Due to construction measures by DB InfraGO, significant restrictions on certain evenings are expected. However, Nordwestbahn aims to ensure a reliable connection for all visitors despite these measures.
Frank Steinkamp, Managing Director of Nordwestbahn, has stated that they are working hard to keep inconveniences for passengers to a minimum.
Substitute buses in Bremen Hbf will stop at Hugo-Schauinsland-Platz (in front of Cinemaxx) on bus platforms R. This applies to all substitute services of lines RS 1, RS 2, RS 3, RS 30, RS 4, and RB 58, which run on behalf of Nordwestbahn GmbH.
The Bremen Freimarket will take place from October 18 to November 3, 2024. During this period, Nordwestbahn will operate substitute services for lines RS 2, RS 3, RS 30, RS 4, and RB 58 from October 26 to November 2, 2024.
Passengers can find the station plan for Bremen Hbf on the website of the Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Bremen / Niedersachsen (ZVBN). It is advisable for passengers to check the current connections before starting their journey.
Platform J will continue to be used for substitute services of lines RE 1, RE 4, RE 8, RE 9, RB 37, RB 41, RE 56, and long-distance traffic (IC/ICE), which run on behalf of DB Regio AG, DB Fernverkehr AG, metronom, and start.
Nordwestbahn thanks its passengers for their understanding and patience. The Nordwestbahn website will announce further details on substitute services and timetables in the coming days.
Please note that, as of now, detailed information about substitution services or altered schedules during the indicated construction period is not accessible. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, checking official sources such as Nordwestbahn, DB InfraGO, or Bremen public transport websites closer to the date would be necessary. These sources typically publish official notices on disruptions, substitute bus services, and revised timetables ahead of such events.
Nordwestbahn remains committed to ensuring a pleasant arrival and departure to the Freimarket for passengers.
The changes in Nordwestbahn's services, specifically lines RS 1, RS 2, RS 3, RS 30, RS 4, and RB 58, are being implemented to accommodate the increased demand during the Bremen Freimarket. Despite the construction measures by DB InfraGO and potential restricted services on certain evenings, Nordwestbahn is dedicated to maintaining a reliable and smooth public-transit connection within the industry, ensuring transportation for all visitors.
