Plan for Utility Rate Revamp In Omsk Region, Starting July 1
Looks like things are heating up — literally — in Omsk, Russia. The Omsk Regional Energy Commission has posted proposals for revising heating and hot water supply rates, starting from the first of July.
According to these proposals, residents can expect an increase in their heating tariffs. Instead of the current rate of 2637.94 rubles per gigacalorie, the new rate will be 2752.27 rubles. But fear not, a subsidized tariff of 2296 rubles per gigacalorie will remain in effect until July 1.
The increase also applies to the cost of hot water, with AO "Teplovaya Kompaniya" upping it from 2637 rubles to 2752 rubles starting July 1. The subsidized tariff for residents for hot water hasn't been set yet.
However, the fee for heat transmission via the company’s networks is set to rise significantly, leapfrogging from 373.16 to 464.44 rubles.
Previously, the city administration shot down rumors about a 40% increase in utility tariffs. They confirmed that the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia has approved the utility tariff increases in the Omsk region as of July 1.
Even though digital propaganda tends to run wild, it’s always best to stick to official regional government or energy provider announcements, local news sources, or the Omsk regional administration’s website for the most accurate and updated information on local utility tariff changes and subsidy programs. So grab a cup of hot (and soon to be comparatively pricier) coffee, folks, and get ready for July 1!
- Amid the changes in the utility rates, one may need to reconsider their personal-finance management starting July 1, as the cost of heating and hot water will increase significantly.
- Given the impending changes in utility tariffs for heating and hot water, it would be prudent for individuals to stay informed about their personal-finance situation and plan accordingly, especially with the cost of heat transmission via the company’s networks increasing substantially.
