After a summer of renovation work, numerous federal and state roads in Saxony-Anhalt are set to reopen for traffic starting Monday, just in time for the new school year.

The B 71 Cheinitz-Winterfeld L25 Weteritz in Altmarkkreis Salzwedel, the L 50 Domnitz-Dornitz and L 172 in Saalekreis, as well as Lindenstraße and L 219 Querfurt and Eislebener Straße, will all be accessible to motorists once again. In Burgenlandkreis, the L 212 Wangen, L 190 Webau, B 250 Wippach, and B 250 Eckartsberga will also reopen.

The B 184 in Landkreis Anhalt-Bitterfeld and the B 1 Möser B 246 Königsborn L 52 Grabow-Theeßen in Landkreis Jerichower Land will also see traffic flow smoothly again. The B 188 near Wust in Landkreis Stendal and the L 102 Ampfurth in Landkreis Börde will also be added to the list of reopened roads.

Dr. Lydia Hüskens, Minister for Infrastructure and Digitalization, made the announcement in Magdeburg, urging all road users to drive carefully, considerately, and with foresight, especially for the safety of first-graders.

The renovation projects were the result of extensive cooperation among all involved parties, with the works on these roads completed as planned by the end of the summer holidays. Construction measures were deliberately scheduled during the holiday period to minimize disruption.

While there is no specific public list detailing the renovated roads in Saxony-Anhalt and their traffic reopenings, local government, transport authority websites, or official roadwork bulletins would be the most authoritative sources for detailed and current updates on road reopenings.

It's worth noting that the region may see increased traffic flow around early August and particularly around August 11 when school resumes in Saxony-Anhalt after summer holidays. Additionally, there is a notable infrastructure update involving railway lines affecting the region, such as the Hamburg–Berlin railway line renovation affecting regional rail services around the area until April 2026. Large public events like the Lidl Deutschland Tour cycling race scheduled from August 20 to 24, 2025, will run through Saxony-Anhalt on closed roads, which implies temporary road closures rather than reopenings during that period.

With the reopening of these roads, well-maintained roads are now essential for traffic safety and the smooth operation of school bus traffic without major detours. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time for travel during this period.

The renovated roads in Saxony-Anhalt, such as the B 71 Cheinitz-Winterfeld L25 Weteritz, the L 50 Domnitz-Dornitz, and the L 172 in Saalekreis, are now open for transportation, contributing to the smooth flow of traffic in the finance and transportation industry. Road users are encouraged to follow the safety guidelines, ensuring a secure journey, particularly for the first-graders returning to school.
