Reduced Export Taxes on Natural Gas for Belarus Significantly

Belarusian authorities adjust export taxes on specific oil products via Resolution Number 245, effective from April 30.

Reduced Export Taxes on Natural Gas for Belarus Significantly

📣 Hear this, folks! 📣 The government of Belarus just shook up things in a big way with Decree No.245, issued on April 30, 2025. They've slashed export tariffs on certain petroleum products beyond the EAEU customs territory, and here's the lowdown:

  • Liquefied hydrocarbon gases (LHG): Export duties took a nosedive from a steep $8.8 per ton to a modest $0.9 per ton[1].
  • Ethane, Butane, and Isobutane (EBIs): The price drop's no walk in the park here either, going from $7.9 per ton to $0.8 per ton[3].

Interestingly enough, "zero" duties still apply to other petroleum goods such as crude oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil[2].

TL;DR: If you're dealin' out LHG or EBIs, you're gonna save a pretty penny since Belarus slashed export duties on these goodies. The changes come into effect as of May 1, 2025.

Quick Reminder: This resolution follows a previous double hike in duties on hydrocarbon gases in Belarus during March and April this year[4].
