Regulation application decision still pending from the Commission.
In the heart of Munich, the Bavarian State Office for Water Management (Wasserwirtschaftsamt Bayern) is taking action to ensure the safety of the Achdorfer Isar bridge and the smooth flow of the Isar River.
Due to recent flooding, large tree parts have obstructed the water flow, causing the accumulation of floating debris. To address this issue, the removal of these floating debris will take place at the Achdorfer Isar bridge on both Saturday and Sunday. The debris will be secured using a winch or excavator to ensure a safe and efficient process.
Fortunately, pedestrians can still cross the bridge without any restrictions. However, it is essential for everyone to follow detour signs and navigate around the construction site accordingly.
For those planning to visit the old town, the detour route is as follows: Inner Regensburger Street, Podewils Street, Am Alten-Viehmarkt, Bishop Sailer Square, Heilig-Geist Alley, Post Square, and in reverse order.
On both days, the Isar will also be navigated by boat to secure the floating debris and aid in the removal process. This action is necessary to protect the bridge from any potential damage caused by the obstructing tree parts.
The Isar gate, however, remains closed due to line works related to district heating. No closure is required at the Achdorfer Isar bridge, ensuring that travel and pedestrian traffic can continue as usual.
In conclusion, the Bavarian State Office for Water Management is working diligently to maintain the safety and flow of the Isar River, and all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of pedestrians and the infrastructure in the area.
