In Wiesbaden, a sewer maintenance measure and a water main break have led to significant changes in traffic flow on Gustav-Stresemann-Ring. Here's a breakdown of the current detours and alternative routes for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Since August 8, the main carriageway of Gustav-Stresemann-Ring, heading out of town between Mainzer Straße and Wettinerstraße, has been fully closed. This closure, however, does not affect the right turn at Am Landeshaus, which remains open to traffic.

The sewer maintenance measure on Mainzer Straße has caused one-way traffic for approximately 70 meters up to Gartenfeldstraße. As a result, a detour via the secondary carriageway of Gustav-Stresemann-Ring between Wittelsbacherstraße and Wettinerstraße has been implemented. It is important to note that the secondary carriageway is not as efficient due to its width and one-way traffic regulation, making it unsuitable for trucks over 3.5 tons.

For those using public transportation, bus routes have been affected. Buses traveling towards Berliner Straße follow a normal route up to the "Hauptbahnhof A" stop, then continue via Gustav-Stresemann-Ring, turning into Wittelsbacherstraße, taking a bypass to Wettinerstraße, and then back to Gustav-Stresemann-Ring to reach stops at Berliner Straße.

Bus line 22 going to Berufsschulzentrum uses the bypass at Gustav-Stresemann-Ring, continues on Wettinerstraße directly to the final stop "Berufsschulzentrum." In the direction of the city center, buses (except line 22) resume their usual routes. For line 22 toward the city center, buses take a detour from Wittelsbacherstraße via Mainzer Straße, Gustav-Stresemann-Ring, and Bahnhofstraße to stops "Hauptbahnhof B" and "Hauptbahnhof A" on Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring.

The City's Construction Map is a useful tool for finding information on Wiesbaden's ongoing construction projects. Detour routes for traffic on Gustav-Stresemann-Ring are signposted on Biebricher Allee in the direction of the city center before the intersection area of Konrad-Adenauer-Ring/Theodor-Heuss-Ring. Alternative routes to the A66 are signposted on Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring before the intersection area of Schiersteiner Straße.

The State Capital Wiesbaden recommends avoiding the closed area if destinations are not in the immediate vicinity, or using public transportation. The closure of Gustav-Stresemann-Ring affects all modes of traffic (cars, bicycles, pedestrians).

The construction site on Welfenstraße will be completed in time for the start of the holidays. More information about construction sites in the city can be found at www.wiesbaden.de. The illustration of the construction site is provided by Openstreetmap, a popular open-source mapping project.

In light of the sewer maintenance measure and water main break, there might be potential disruptions in the transportation industry, particularly for motorists who rely on Gustav-Stresemann-Ring, as one-way traffic and detours have been implemented. For those relying on public transportation, bus routes have been significantly altered, affecting the flow of finance, such as work commutes or business schedules.
