The Ministry of Interior in Germany has issued new guidelines for travelers carrying money, jewelry, and other valuables. These regulations, established in cooperation with the German Customs (Deutscher Zoll), the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (Bundesamt für Naturschutz), and often informed by the Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt) regarding travel and security advisories, aim to ensure transparency and compliance with financial security regulations.

According to the guidelines, travelers are required to declare all forms of gold, including bullion, jewelry, and precious watches, when leaving the country. This declaration must be made through the customs form, and it is necessary for both departing and arriving passengers.

Upon departure, a sighting note is provided for jewelry, watches, and other valuables. Similarly, a similar sighting note is issued upon arrival when returning with these items. For gold bullion, a statistical statement is issued by the Air Cargo Department near the T4 building.

The Financial Investigation Department at the airport is responsible for handling these declarations. Receipts must be presented during inspection for all valuables, including gold, to ensure the accuracy of the declarations. The process does not restrict travel but serves as a legal requirement aimed at combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

These new guidelines were reported by Al Jarida newspaper, emphasizing the importance of adhering to these regulations for all travelers. It is crucial to remain informed and comply with the regulations to ensure a smooth and secure travel experience.
