Mona Naqvi Takes the Helm at CFA Institute as Managing Director
Mona Naqvi, a seasoned climate policy advisor and economist with an impressive background in sustainable finance, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Research, Advocacy, and Standards at the CFA Institute, effective from September 8, 2025.
Naqvi's extensive experience includes stints as an economist at the Bank of England, Research Director at the sustainable finance think tank 2° Investing Initiative, and Global Head of Sustainable Capital Markets & Investment Research at S&P Global. She also served as a climate policy advisor to the Obama Administration.
In her new role, Naqvi will be responsible for the strategic direction of the CFA Institute’s research, advocacy, and standards initiatives across the investment industry. She will oversee the CFA Institute Research and Policy Center, which publishes research, shapes policy, and sets standards.
Naqvi is excited about her new role and expressed her admiration for the role CFA Institute plays in advancing professionalism and trust in finance. She believes in the power of research, clear communication, and thoughtful policy to turn ambition into action.
Reporting directly to Margaret Franklin, the CFA Institute president and CEO, Naqvi is poised to make a significant impact in the world of finance and investment.
