Road closure on Bonn route from 14th July to 22nd August in full effect
In the city of Hürth, Germany, residents and commuters should be aware of upcoming construction and service changes on two of the city's bus lines, 714 and 720, managed by Stadtwerke Hürth.
From July 14 to approximately August 22, 2025, the Bonnstraße will be fully closed for a renovation project led by Straßen.NRW. During this period, the company Straßenbau GmbH will be responsible for the asphalt work on Bonnstraße between the Nußallee intersection and Fischenich train station.
As a result of this closure, both lines 714 and 720 will be affected. For line 714, the stops "Fischenich (Stadtbahn)", "Fischenich Meschenicher Straße", and "Fischenich Süd" will not be served during this period. The line will instead terminate at the "Kalscheuren Winterstraße" stop.
Line 720, on the other hand, will operate a detour. From July 28, 2025, the line will not be able to serve the "Vorgebirgsstraße" stop in both directions. Temporary stops will be set up on Vorgebirgsstraße and "An der Fuhr" to accommodate passengers during the detour.
In addition, in the direction of Hermülheim (Stadtbahn), line 720 will not be able to serve the "Rosellenplatz" stop during the closure.
Passengers are advised to take note of the updated construction timetable to plan their journeys accordingly. The Hüpper service will be available during the summer holidays for stops in Fischenich and Kendenich to the "Kalscheuren Bahnhof" stop, ensuring a connection to regional transport during the closure.
