Rosé Prepares Second Solo Album After 'Rosie' Success

Rosé, the New Zealand-born K-pop sensation, is currently in the midst of a cover shoot, with a dedicated team ensuring her look is flawless. The 30-year-old, who rose to fame as part of Blackpink, is now a global solo star with over 84 million Instagram followers and 34 million monthly Spotify listeners. She is preparing for her second solo album, following the massive success of her debut, 'Rosie', which included the duet 'Apt.' with Bruno Mars.

Rosé's journey to stardom began at the age of 15 when she auditioned for YG Entertainment and moved to Seoul. There, she underwent rigorous training in singing, dancing, language study, and evaluations. Her hard work paid off as she became the lead vocalist of Blackpink, which debuted in 2016 and quickly gained international recognition. They played at Coachella in 2019 and grossed over $300 million from world tours.

Rosé's first solo single, 'On the Ground', released in 2021, made her the first artist to top global charts as both a group member and a soloist. Her debut solo album, 'Rosie', released in December 2024, was a personal exploration, featuring the hit single 'Apt.', a duet with Bruno Mars that amassed over 2 billion streams on Spotify and spent 45 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 3. Despite her success, Rosé admits to feeling pressure and being self-critical.

Rosé's influence extends beyond music. Her face graces various products and advertisements, from YSL handbags to Puma sneakers, and she is featured on digital screens in Seoul and Times Square in New York. In 2024, she renewed her contract with YG for group projects but also signed with Atlantic Records in the U.S. for solo work. With her second solo album on the way, Rosé continues to break barriers and redefine what it means to be a K-pop idol.
