Ruger Becomes First Blue Diamond Sponsor for SSSF's Youth Shooting Programs
Ruger, a leading firearms manufacturer, has shown steadfast commitment to the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF). In 2024, it became the first Blue Diamond level sponsor, contributing over $75,000 annually to support youth shooting sports. Rick Leach, SSSF's president, expressed gratitude for Ruger's sponsorship and support of the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) and Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).
Ruger's sponsorship at the Blue Diamond level aids both SASP and SCTP programs. SASP participants use rimfire rifles, revolvers, pistols, or centerfire handguns to engage targets, while SCTP teams practice and compete in various trap, skeet, and sporting clays events. Paul Pluff, Ruger's public relations manager, expressed the company's honor in being the first Blue Diamond sponsor for the SSSF's youth development programs.
Ruger's support extends beyond the SSSF. In 2020, it raised over $900,000 through special auctions on Gunbroker.com for various charitable organizations, including the NRA Foundation, the USO, and the Patriot Paws Foundation.
Ruger's commitment to the SSSF and other charitable organizations demonstrates its dedication to supporting youth development and worthy causes. With over $900,000 raised since 2010, the company continues to make a significant impact through its generous contributions.
