Russia's Industry Ministry Boosts Production Targets, Updates Policy Assessment
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia recently held a session at the testing center of the Kuban enterprise 'Saturn'. The event discussed the annual increase in industrial production and the effectiveness of industrial policy implementation across Russia's federal districts.
The President of Russia has set a task to ensure an annual increase in the volume of industrial production by four percent. The session was attended by Vladimir Mostovoy, deputy director of the regional industrial policy department, and Dmitry Khmeľko, acting Minister of Industrial Policy of Krasnodar Krai, along with heads of about 40 sectoral agencies from regions and enterprises.
The history of rating the effectiveness of implementing industrial policy in regions dates back five years. This year, historical territories of Russia started participating in the rating. The methodology for assessing the effectiveness of the activities of the executive authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation in the field of industry will be updated, taking into account the proposals of the regions.
In Krasnodar Krai, despite limited resources, the development of industrial infrastructure is underway. Work began in 2024 to involve industrial lands not in use or used improperly. For the 2025 rating, the main nominations will be retained, indicators for increasing the volume of production will be actualized, and new categories, including a nomination for regions-mentors, will be added.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia aims to improve the assessment process and support regional industrial development. Krasnodar Krai, among other regions, is actively working to enhance its industrial infrastructure and contribute to the national production targets.
