Securing a budget of 14,000 for the 2025 Kadayawan Festival
The much-anticipated Kadayawan Festival 2025 is just around the corner, and organisers have put in place stringent security measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Approximately 14,000 safety and security personnel will be deployed throughout the month-long celebration, with a focus on securing all festival activities. This number includes nearly 7,000 police personnel, with soft deployments starting before the main events, including units like K9 and Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD) teams [1][3].
For the comfort and safety of attendees, certain items are strictly prohibited inside all major event venues. Backpacks are banned, as part of strict security protocols to prevent unattended bags and possible security threats [1][2]. Additionally, hats, jackets, pointed umbrellas, and non-transparent water bottles are also prohibited to facilitate security checks and reduce concealment risks [2].
Authorities will conduct thorough inspections, focusing not only on the main areas but also on secluded parts within venues to ensure nothing dangerous is hidden [1]. Festival-goers are urged not to leave bags unattended outside if backpacks are prohibited [1].
The Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) will ensure a safe environment for all festival activities. Traffic advisories and alternate routes will be announced in coordination with the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO).
The security plan emphasizes a “culture of security” aiming for both safety and an enjoyable experience for attendees. Festival-goers are encouraged to report any suspicious individuals to authorities [4].
The Kadayawan Festival 2025 will kick off on August 7 with the Misa Pasasalamat at San Pedro Cathedral and continue with the Pag-Abli sa Kadayawan opening ceremony on August 8 at the Kadayawan Tribal Village in Magsaysay Park [6]. A trade fair will run at the Kadayawan Tribal Village from August 8 to 31 [7]. The festival will wrap up with Kadayawan Pasasalamat on August 20 at Rogen Inn [8].
Cultural highlights include the Hiyas sa Kadayawan Grand Coronation Night on August 14 at the USeP Gymnasium, the Hiyas sa Kadayawan Cultural Presentation on August 9, Pananam sa Kadayawan from August 9 to 17, Bantawan Cultural Celebration from August 10 to 12, Kasikas sa Kadayawan on August 13, Kadayawan Expo and Food Trucks Bazaar from August 13 to 17, and various events on August 15, 16, and 20 [6].
The grand Pamulak ug Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan street parade and showdown will happen on August 17 [9]. Around 600 personnel will be deployed daily during the festival.
These measures reflect a comprehensive approach to security aiming to safeguard the large crowds attending Kadayawan Festival 2025 [1][2]. So, mark your calendars and get ready for a secure and memorable Kadayawan Festival 2025!
